Things change.
There's always something new, something different, something... Not quite, normal.
And that something must be controlled, degraded, and if possible, destroyed.
Mankind has never been known for its accepting nature. It has persevered through prejudice after prejudice, just to find itself swallowed by another. Things are no different with Mutants, and while progress has been made, it has been slow progress, and many oppose it. Three years since the X-Men made their final stand against the Brotherhood of Mutants, things have indeed changed.
The Brotherhood remains in power, although severely weakened, and the X-Men face a new threat: Weapon X, a government owned and operated special force, designed to hunt down mutants, by using mutants. An elite force of the most unique and worthy mutants has been assembled, and they belong to a government uninterested in change.
More importantly, Weapon X has a secret.
Ever wonder where the stories of doomsday originated? What propelled thousand-year-old civilizations to leave warning of impending death? Weapon X knows. A small force of mutants employed by them discovered and awakened an ancient mutant, accurately named for his destructive power and intent: Apocalypse.
The fate of the world hangs in the balance as the X-Men are forced once again into action. Their battle for peace and life rages on alongside their battle for acceptance.
The winner is of yet, undetermined.
Welcome to the Apocalypse.
