So I put my faith in something unknown I'm living on such sweet nothing But I'm tired of hope with nothing to hold I'm living on such sweet nothing This isn’t fun... she found a frown slowly starting to cross her delicate doll-like pallor. This didn’t sound like the air-headed fox she knew but Anise had to remind herself of the possible amnesia he’s suffering. Correction, it’s now a reality, the girl shook her head in exasperation. Wondering just what kind of goddess did she irritate up there to land her into such a predicament where she has to play as a trigger object for this man’s memories. Actually... the idea of bringing in Nero now and letting him handle this annoyance sounded... a bit more tempting for the young woman now that she clearly would have to thread carefully with this man. If he wanted answers, by the divines Anise will make him WORK for it just as he tossed her to the seven hells of murderous paperwork after his disappearance. The thought it of it left a small vein throbbing on her temple clearly showing her displeasure to being reminded of it. And that’s what’s happening, this man was a walking reminder that she spend sleepless weeks just to deal with that chaos and the internal conflict brought upon by the thought of his death in the hands of those savages. It didn’t give her peace if that’s what he thought... it fueled whatever reason she had to get back at him for that. Sounds petty doesn’t it? But for Anise it was all worth it. Hearing him speak force the child to roll her eyes more as an act of sarcasm infamously connected to her than anything. “No physical abuse included, too lazy for that and to be honest. I’d rather not deal with anything that means manual labor.” She bluntly intone as if reading through the subtle body language the boy portrayed her hawk-like gaze picked on the subtle hints being painted on him. He’s a blank canvass in her eyes. A blank yet predictable one, “I’m not saying anything, I don’t feel like giving you everything on a silver platter. That wouldn’t be amusing.” She shrugged, turning her eyes away from him momentarily it turned towards the passing crowd. “This place doesn’t seem to have a shortage of people doesn’t it?” The child commented offhandedly like someone speaking about a weather on a fine windy day. "Though heres' a tiny advise your choice whether to take it or toss it to god knows where," She began right out of the blue as a stray pup dashed past their feet. "If you wanna figure out something about your identity, dont let anything happen to that mark, or if you wanna screw it and be a damn coward then erase it and be done with everything eh? Easy choice right." She shrugged. MADE BY VEL OF GS

◤ | ◥ | like you always say, | "safe travels, don't die." | Well, if she wasn't having fun then nor was Starling. He wasn't having any kind of fun since the moment this fine woman rolled into his life, or rather back into it. He had not a single clue on who she was or what she was to him. All he knew is that he had one hell of a harsh bitch before him. Though how in the world was he supposed to handle her? He hadn't the slightest.
All she did was bring about headaches that he like to avoid getting. She spoke like she knew him, mentioned the river and now this mark on his ear. All it did was make him worried. Make him freak out and want to hide in the nearest corner possible to nurse his wounded head and soon to be pride.
However, he remained in place while staring at her. Still with no idea what to do he spoke softly, "You're rather harsh, aren't you?" He decided to state the obvious as his ears bent back in self defense. He didn't like the way she spoke to him. It was like being smacked upside the head with a ruler by your own mother. It hurt.
"And I never said I was going to remove it, I just." Just what? Ugh, this wasn't working well. He didn't like to be cornered and that was what was going down right now. Being cornered by this small girl. "So you aren't going to tell me anything even though you hint to knowing me? Isn't just kind, I don't know, rude?"
As well as not helpful, bossy, mean, and well all the other words that could go with this statement. Really, what was he supposed to do here? Believe her or just not? Still, the marking on his ear did make him rather curious.

| ""ANGEL with a shotgun;;"" Why... if she could ask him now, why did he go to that mission after she warned him before? She told him...she wasn’t comfortable with the job he took, but he wouldn’t acknowledge the throbbing anxiety produced by her gut instincts sensing the premonition of disaster looming over him like a dark rain cloud. He didn’t listen... And look how he ended up it, she sighed, reminiscing the dark clouds threatening to engulf her mood, intending to spiral it down into the despair she had felt when he disappeared all those months ago. Mixed feelings ate her stomach, making it churn in discomfort. He never listened... now she found him after two months without any warning, without any preparation to steel the heart she swore had frozen over but like her brother the bastard had to worm his way into the edifice that held that frozen disaster of a heart she had. She wondered, as he spoke she tried to listen to his words all while ignoring the urge to make him feel the exact sadness she felt. This is why, she hated feeling attachments, she hated the emotions that followed along with it, now she cant do anything about it. It was there, she had an attachment to this annoying fox no matter how many times he denied it. She arched an eyebrow, hearing him state about her being rude. Sure her words from time to time tend to stem from the blunt attitude she was known for. Nise should have expected that reaction from him at the same time it amused the child. She still sensed the light tinged of naivety on his tone. Amnesia or not he hasn’t changed this perhaps the young woman can be thankful of... Now if she can resist that heavy urge to smack him over the head for not listening to her warnings. “I say it how I see it.” She intoned, still leaning her back against that wall, her eyes turned their gaze back at him. Did he really expect her... to just tell him things, when he made it perfectly clear he didn’t know a shit about them. Well maybe she was getting a bit of herself, Nise never prided herself in being an expert in human interaction in fact being in this situation was far too foreign for her to be comfortable. She did her best to hide it from him, hiding it behind the large wall she pulled up between him and her. “You really expect me to give freebies?” Her eyebrow arched slightly, a faint twinkle of amusement twinkled in those orbs of hers as she maintained that blank mask she wore on her face. “You’re such a troublesome fox...” She then sighed, heaving a breath of air into her lungs to pacify the growing migraine on her head. “You’re definitely one troublesome fox...” She moved her hand over towards the bandages covering her ankle, pulling at the fabric a bit until it loosen revealing part of the mark she gained upon her admittance into the red clan the same one they both shared as being members of the red clan. “Will this suffice as a clue?” She asked, bending down to start fixing the loosen bandages. OOC: Uggghh muse why?! |

◤ | ◥ | like you always say, | "safe travels, don't die." | Starling got the strange sensation that this woman would of loved to slap him upside the head with a hammer. Not a small little hammer but a huge one that would make him see stars and his ears ring for weeks. He didn't fully understand why though. He had just met her and yet at the same time he almost seemed like he knew. The more they spoke to one another the more it seemed to be true.
If he only knew the amount of trouble he was causing her and his clan. He would feel like such a horrible person. It had not been his idea to go out and take on too many injuries, get smacked upside the head, and almost drown. It just sort of happened and in hindsight, maybe he should of listened to her in the past. But his pigheadedness kicked in and as much as he tried to tell her he would be fine it, he wasn't. He knew that the mission would be dangerous but he would be damned to sit back when he could be of use.
Sadly, his decision put him in the position he was in today. Trying to remember stuff he couldn't. Star looked at the woman with a tilted head. "Are you always like this?" He asked with a small sigh. He supposed he could just roll with it for now. What other choice did he have? She sure wasn't going to tell him much of anything which only left him to decode everything she had to say. It so wasn't fun and only made his head hurt.
The fox raised a brow and offered her an apologetic shrugs of the shoulders. "I'm sorry?" He wasn't sure how to respond to being told he was troublesome though he knew it was a bit true. Though he didn't expect her to suddenly lift up one leg and start unwrapping her ankle. "Um, shouldn't you not unwrap injuries?" He asked, thinking she might of been injured.
Shockingly, there was no wound on her flesh of any kind. Instead there was a mark resting there and before the fox or anise knew it, he was attached to her ankle. He was so surprised by it that he had promptly dropped down, took her foot in hand and didn't even pay attention to the fact he might of unbalanced her. He was far to busy looking at the mark that matched his own. Cool fingers touched the mark. "You got one too?" What did that even mean?

| ""ANGEL with a shotgun;;"" Sorry....? A flashback occurred in her mind of a time long forgotten that she blanked out for a bit as the image played in her mind. He used to say that, sorry... for the times he got himself into trouble and she ends up pulling him out of those situations, every time, yeah it was so many times she lost count of the days she had to save his arse from all the chaos he got himself into... She told him before she wont help him next time...
But, disregarding those thoughts, her words she was still the first person who would grab his hand to pull him out of harms way. She couldnt stop it, every time... She blinked, instantly seeing him so close to her nearly broke the child's well thought of composure. She bit down the incoming yelp fighting to break from her lips. In this noisy town, they were practically invisible, though the vendors yelled loudly at the top of their lungs she barely heard a word of what they spoke, everything seemed like it fell dead for the child, fallen into a world of silence as she unconsciously muted the rest of her surroundings. She hadnt seem him rush towards her breaking the distance she carefully placed between them. Nothing managed stop the cry ushered from her lips this time when her balanced tip from him taking hold of her leg. "Baka fox!" She yelped out, surprised it rendered her mind into stunned silence before she forced it into action. A split second too late she was falling, prolly going to land on her arm from what she figured the landing point would be. It was her fault anyway, she hadnt paid attention to the sneaky fox.
Wait...did she just mixed him and sneakiness in one sentence. The thought was almost as unbelievable as her being caught off guard by him. For the first he managed to do something he hadnt done before. Maybe, hitting his head that hard actually gave him skill sets the young girl would need to be wary off. She forced it out of her mind, struggling to hold onto the logic that she tried to pride herself in. But the fox always did find a way to topple through the carefully build up facade she portrayed to the world. The damn fox... that stood over her, so innocent... yet so idiotic at the same time. She blinked, debating on choosing her words carefully in the answer she had to give to him. "Course, what did you expect? How do you think I know your wirely arse?" The girl muttered out. |

◤ | ◥ | like you always say, | "safe travels, don't die." | The fox just stared at the ankle in his hands, the Red Clan's marking was on her just as it was on him but in a different location. He might be slow but he wasn't a complete idiot. If she had one then it really did mean something afterall and wasn't just some random mark. With his index finger resting on the mark, he looked up to speak to the young lady.
It took him half a second to realize, with her words, that he had successfully caused her to lose her sense of balance. Startled by that realization the fox dropped the limb and did the only thing he could at his current positon to keep her from falling. His arms reached out and wrapped about her waist to pull her close as well to give her some since of balance. However, in doing so he unintentionally buried his face in her lower stomach.
It didn't stay their for long as he looked up at her with a nervous smile. "Ah, sorry, Miss. Anise. I guess I just got a bit...excited?" Was that the right word? Excited? Hmm, it was something to think about but right now he had other things to be concerned over. Such as Anise muttering things at him which only made his ears jerk forward to catch what she was saying.
"Oh...it does? Oh. Um, I don't know what to expect, Sorry?"

| ""ANGEL with a shotgun;;"" Of course she was part of them, she always was whether she cared to admit it or not it was already written on the book of fate that she was supposed to be with them for as long as time deemed it right. She had no choice in the matter to fight against something so foreseen that whichever route she took it always landed her on the doorsteps of the red clan. It’s expected for the sister of the red king to be in the same clan as her dear brother.
This, was expected of her just as how she’s doomed to carry on the tradition her family carried as part of the bloodline of the old king. Did she want this? She asked that numerous times but no one answered the questions she sought. No one had the answers for something so personal that it never left her lips, her mind crashed. Crumpled into stunned silence as the scene played in slow motion in her mind, his arms wrapped around her waist pulling her to his person in one successive move, of a viper preparing to strike, oh that would be funny cute little Cyrus being that sneaky, she shook her head, feeling the pressure against her stomach she uttered a gasp before a bright red blush settled on her cheeks, giving her pallid complexion a rose colored hue.
How was she supposed to react to this? She tried to force out words from her mouth but her throat constricted, refusing to allow the sentence from leaving her throat. She didn’t know how to react that itself was obvious at the play of conflicting emotions showing on her face as her masked cracked from the sudden shock. “Y-You always say that.” She stammered out, trying to recollect her composure that flew out from that open window no sooner had it seen the signs of this happening. If she knew she was going to land in something like this she would have scoured her books for a solution. Pitiful that she knew so little about interacting that she had to rely on books to give her ideas on how to school her reactions to mimic those from others. An ordinary girl would scream bloody murder by now, or bash his head open with that, her eyes drifted to the far right of the alley, hidden behind a pile of garbage she made out the faint shape of wooden boards along with the glint of scrap metal glinting away in the light of the midafternoon sun. Not a single soul stop to stare at the mild scene, preferring to follow the constant sea of civilians and travelers roaming around the metropolis.
“And every time you say it you always get yourself into so much trouble.” She sighed slightly wondering which god she angered to be thrown into this mess. Still.. she couldn’t abandoned him that’s the only reason she hadn’t stopped helping him no matter how much she denied it or used the basic fact about paperwork as an excuse. “Baka kitsune.” She stated in a half blunt manner. Gently pulling away from him as she steady her composure back into an iron cage as she replaced the surprise masked back towards the old poker face façade that Cyrus almost broke, her hand reached over to his before lightly bonking him.
Looking back at him, the young girl eyed the soft spoken kitsune. She was still finding it hard to believe that cyrus actually toned it down. She was beginning to think this wasn’t him, but the mark quickly killed that assumption. “You really don’t remember anything? Even about that blasted mission that landed you... in this predicament?” She asked, trying to calculate just how deep of a hole did Cyrus get himself into now.

◤ | ◥ | like you always say, | "safe travels, don't die." | Starling released his hold on her small body and dropped down to sit on his bottom, his hands resting in his lap while he crossed his legs idly. He had nothing but the look of pure innocence as his cheeks matched her own rosey color. ”Im sorry?” He offered with a bit of insecurity laced in his words. He had suddenly made her feel awkward. He could tell the moment she looked at him, he could see past that mask of hers and notice her actual feelings. She was as lost as he was with this whole situation. She knew him but he could not recall her in the slightest. She must have been equally as frustrated as him and it probably felt like a slap in the face.
The young fox sighed softly while leaning forward to rest his chin in the palm of his hand. ”Do I? Sorry.” He didn’t know what else to say to her words as he finally settled with the facts before him. He repeated a third sorry while his ears drooped down to his shoulders. It seemed like he was really good at making messes but horrible at cleaning them up. It appeared to a trend for the fox the more the girl spoke with him.
Idly, the smith poked at a rock near his ankle while shaking his head at her question. ”I don’t remember much other then waking up to Hessat.” He paused for a moment. ”Well, I remember some things but none of it is in order. Like, I remember I’m a smith and that some man took care of me. I remembering being sold a lot. It’s really just random information. Like pieces to a puzzle without a reference. Some I can snap together quickly while others rest off to the side.” The fox sighed again. ”Sorry, Anise.” What more could he say to the poor girl? He would of loved to be able to lie to her and tell her that he remembered a lot of things. But it wasn’t true, he just hand a handful of random memories. ”It gets better though. Sometimes I can remember faster then others.”
