Greenwood Clothing, Cobbler and Hats - 10am - Jan 6
Candles flickered on the window sill until soft lips blew them out. Long arms opened up the windows and a huge inhale of fresh air was heard within the loud bustle of the neighbors below. Birds chirped and flew in their flocks across the homes and heads of neighbors and passersby. Sanibelle looked outside with the sun now bleeding through her opened window. It looked like it’d be a warm day and business would be even more busy than usual. If the weather was nice, more people flocked into their small business because they were able to display some hats, shoes and some small garments like underskirts and over coats.
She twirled towards her closest and rummaged through her clothing. Wonder what I’ll wear today? Probably something not too hot.. Hands continued to rummage until her eyes caught onto a light green muslin skirt and white shirt that came slightly off her shoulders. Before dressing, Sanibelle brushed her teeth, washed her face and loosely braided her long hair. She slipped on her clothing and and pair of brown laceup leather slippers. The young woman reached out her open window and plucked a small white flower from her window flower pot and put it behind her ear. “I’m in a wonderful mood today,” she giggled as she rushed down stairs. Her family was already at the shop because they liked to be there super early. If her relatives knew it would be a busy week, they’d set up some cots in the way back of shop and sleep. That only happened if there was a holiday, a wedding or a very special event coming up. Patrons would flood in from opening to closing.
Pale hands tied a light mustard green cloak around her neck before closing and locking the heavy oak door behind her. Rays of the sun bounced off her delicate skin and bright blonde hair. Amethyst eyes looked up at the sky to admire the clear blue skies and birds trying to maneuver around lines upon lines of drying laundry. Kids were running around in the dirt streets with their friends and cloth balls. Some of the older women were brushing off their front steps as they waved hello to passing neighbors. A gentle breeze swirled between the houses as Sanibelle continued her small walk to her family’s business.
When she arrived, there were already a few people admiring her aunt’s hats and her father was sitting on his stool shining a gentleman’s boots. “Good morning Sanibelle,” an older gentleman said, lifting his hat and a nod of his head.
“Morning, Mr. Baron! Lovely day isn’t it?” she replied with a smile and small curtsy.
“Indeed it is! Polite as always, Alexander. You ought to find her a husband before a war is raged,” Mr. Baron laughed with his typical deep belly laugh.
Sanibelle’s father smirked as he finished up his customer’s shoes. “Haha, 20 is still too young in book, Mr. Baron! That’ll be 10 shillings, Mr. Langley.”
“Here’s your money, Alexander,” Mr. Langley replied handing his payment. “Mr. Baron is right you know, Sanibelle will make a fine wife.” The tall brunette man smiled at Sanibelle making her blush slightly. She wasn’t used to all of this male attention nor the constant talk of marriage.
“Now, now stop pestering my daughter you fools!” Alexander laughed as he stood up from his small wood stool. The three gentlemen had a hearty laugh together before Mr. Baron and Mr. Langley headed off to a merchant’s meeting.
Sanibelle watched the men walk off before entering the shop. Her aunt was sitting at her work desk adding feathers to a purple hat that was commissioned for Mrs. Ederson a week ago. Her mother was just opening the wide windows allowing the fresh air to flow into the shop allowing any passersby a better look at their wares. “Sanibelle dear, I’ll be in the back, if you need anything, please holler!”
“Yes mama,” she replied as she picked up the broom and started sweeping the floors. Sanibelle propped open the door to let more air and sunshine in, and to also sweep whatever duse there was on the floors. A soft lullaby fell from her lips as she swept and organized some misplaced clothing. So soaked into organizing, she didn’t notice a man walk in until her father said something.
“Sanibelle, can you please take care of the man that walked in? I’m busy with Mr and Mrs Hubbards.” The young woman quickly stopped what she was doing and looked up. She placed the broom in a corner and brushed her hands off on her skirt.
“Hello sir,” she smiled. “Is there anything you’re looking for in particular?”

Despite being born in the slums, Casimir has grown up to be a rather mild-mannered gentleman. He's polite and respectful, which makes him rather easy to talk to and be around. For the most part he doesn't try to call attention to himself and tends to like to lurk in the background. If one manages to get truly close to him he can be an extremely devoted individual. He's not exactly used to socializing outside of his work partner though, so it may take some coaxing to get him to put forth more of an effort.

never let it be said i was untrue
For a long while, Casimir had simply stood outside, staring down at the armful of clothing his partner had thrust at him. His tail twitched in a subdued manner against the ankles of his leather boots, his brow furrowed a minute fraction as his mind wandered over his newest order. Sometimes it seemed as if the blonde did this sort of thing just to test the feline Strain's patience and loyalty. Thankfully he had long since built up the willpower to not let out any embarrassing whines when sent off to do work on his own, but such assignments often had him feeling lost. He found himself wondering how long everything would take, doing the mental math of the duration of their separation as he made his way down the street. In the end, it didn't matter how long it would take, as he was specifically told not to rush, as the other blue clan member had some business to attend to. Casimir's ears pinned back slightly as he inhaled deeply, adjusted the bundle of clothing in his arms, and continued on his way. As he wove in and out of the early morning foot traffic on the street, careful not to bump into anyone, his silvery gaze scanned over the signs and addresses of various businesses. Soon enough his attention settled on one in particular: Greenwood Clothing, Cobbler and Hats
That sounded promising. Straightening his posture, boots clicking softly against the ground, he approached the building. Pulling open the door, he sidled inside and lingered by the entryway for a few moments. Glancing over the room, he took a few steps inside and then to the right, as if in an effort to keep out of the way. One of his ears perked and swiveled as a voice addressed him, his head turning to focus his gaze on the speaker. A polite smile crept onto his pale features, chin dipped in a small bow to the young woman before him. "Good morning...I was hoping to see if you did repairs here? If not, I am looking to buy something similar enough to this to be a suitable replacement..." He held up the well-worn cloaks that his partner had handed off to him for his errand, tail swaying slightly. I gave you all my time coded by Mura of KXK

”Good morning...I was hoping to see if you did repairs here? If not, I am looking to buy something similar enough to this to be a suitable replacement..." The tall male handed her about what looked like five cloaks or so. Sanibelle walked over to a long wooden table tilting her head beckoning the young man to follow. Pale hands laid out the cloaks one by one and trained amethyst eyes glanced over the fabrics as fingers could feel the differences between the weak spots and strong spots of the threads. To her, the lining was the only thing that needed to be fixed, but the outer fabric had some small weak spots that could be fixed and supported if each cloak was lined with a layer of thin but durable goat’s leather. “You’re quite lucky sir,” Sanibelle smiled as she lifted up a cloak to show the man what the necessary repairs would be and how she would do it. “We do repairs which is honestly cheaper to repair all of these than buy 5 new cloaks. The lining is the biggest issue and the outer fabric is a little worn but not enough to be a problem after the repairs are done. What I’ll do for repairs is to give you a stronger lining of cotton but also give you an extra layer of flexible goats leather which will provide insulation and keep you more dry when the rain or whatever the seasons throw out at you. You look like a well traveled person, so the two linings is the best option. Is there a time you need all these done by? If you need cloaks for the rest of the day, I’m willing to rent some out to you.” A hand reached into a small basket and pulled out a pair of shears, Sanibelle would probably take a few hours to each cloak, but it was considered an easy project. If her mother was done with whatever she’s doing on the makeshift hand cranked machine, the process would actually go faster. The machine was ingrained into a heavy wood table and was run by good old elbow grease. The needle would move up and down when Sanibelle or Mother moved the lever away from them in circle motions. Thinking the man would possibly need cloaks at the moment used and had no patience to wait for half a day, Sanibelle placed the cloak and shears down. “If the option I mentioned doesn’t work for you, I’ll show you the best deals on some good traveling cloaks.” Sanibelle walked over to a shelf labeled male traveling cloaks. She pulled a hoodless brown cloak with a leather neck, a long forest green cloak made out of wool with a muslin lining, and a mid thigh black leather cloak with a hood. Sanibelle put the two later ones on the table and put the brown hoodless cloak around the man’s shoulders. She turned him slightly toward a long mirror. “What do you think?” she smiled softly. "Oh, good..." The feline Strain breathed out a little in relief, his posture relaxing a fraction. The easy part of finding a good shop was over, now he just had to deal with the hard part of waiting. He fell silent as she discussed the options, his ears flicking forward to focus on her voice. A polite smile lingered on his pale features as he followed her over to the mirror, head tilted some as the cloaks were shown off. His tail swayed slowly, though he was careful to keep the movement contained to the back of his ankles so he didn't hit anything. "I am actually not in a hurry...So I do not mind waiting for them to be repaired...Thank you for showing me your stock, though..." Well, that wasn't really the truth at all...Waiting tired Casimir out, but that was more due to being separated from his partner, and there really wasn't anything he could do about that. There was a short bout of silence as he hesitated, mulling over options in his head. He had nowhere to be after he handed off these cloaks to be repaired, and his brow furrowed almost imperceptibly at that thought. That meant he would probably just end up lurking and waiting for his partner to finish business...With that in mind, he glanced back to the shopkeep and widened his polite smile. "Ah...If it would not be much of a problem...Do you think I could watch you repair them? That way...I might know how to take care of any damage that might happen if I get stranded in an emergency situation and cannot make it to town..." I gave you all my time coded by Mura of KXK

"I am actually not in a hurry...So I do not mind waiting for them to be repaired...Thank you for showing me your stock, though...Ah...If it would not be much of a problem...Do you think I could watch you repair them? That way...I might know how to take care of any damage that might happen if I get stranded in an emergency situation and cannot make it to town..." Sanibelle just flashed another smile at the man’s request. She had never had a male figure, or a strain at the maer, ever show interest in the sewing side of the business. They were more into the cobbling aspect and would have lengthy conversations with her father. Her pale hands lifted off the cloak from the man’s shoulders and folded it up nicely along with the others and put them on stock.
“Truly no problem, sir. I wouldn’t mind a little company truthfully. If you’re going to watch, I will put you to work though. It’ll be subtracted out of payment, and a truly better way to learn than just watching,” she replied, her voice sweet like an angel. The afternoon sun shined on her pale skin and blonde hair to only highlight her natural beauty. Sanibelle picked up the cloaks that needed repair and brought them to a table in the back of the shop and was closest to the window that would allow more natural light to hit her soft skin. “Do you mind if we work near the window? I enjoy the natural light and it makes things so much easier to see. Also helps me relax and not worry about my illness. I’d also love to hear more about you if that’s okay? I’ve never seen a feline Strain before...I’ve seen more birds than any other species. I’ve never left the city because finding a willing escort is hard unless you pay almost 500 shillings.. Anyway, sorry about my rambling. I tend to ask too many questions when I meet someone new.”
Sanibelle placed the cloaks on the long table and walked over to a huge wicker basket. She rummaged through it and finally picked it up and carried it over to the table. Her delicate hands pulled out two pairs of snips, a cutting knife, a few tailors thimbles, thin and heavy duty bone and metal needles, and huge spools of thread that matched the color of the cloaks. She then walked to another side of the back room and grabbed a huge bolt of cotton lining and light brown goats leather. “Alright well….the first part is to measure out the lining and leather.” Sanibelle grabbed the bolt of cotton lining and rolled it out across the table. “These cloaks are different sizes..so we’ll have to label them.” The young woman rummaged through the large wicker basket once more and pulled out some pretty big pins, paper and charcoal. She wrote a huge number 1 on a small slip of paper and pinned it to the first cloak she picked up. “Would you mind writing out the numbers and pinning them to the cloaks as I lay out this one?” she asked politely, gifting another one of her beautiful smiles.

Upon hearing that he would be allowed to stay and observe the mending process, a spark of relief flared in his chest and caused his posture to relax a small fraction. There was also a tiny part of him that felt guilty for essentially using the woman's vocation as an excuse to take his mind off his separation from his partner, but...It was certainly better than being alone. And he would be able to learn a new skill, too, so it wasn't as if he wouldn't have anything to do if conversation fell through. A small smile lingered on his pale features as he bowed his head in thanks, "Thank you...I do not mind working, in fact, as you say, that will help me learn..." As the woman moved, the feline Strain turned to follow her. Habitually falling five steps behind and to her left as was instinct by now, no matter who was leading. "Wherever you would like to work, I do not mind. Whatever is the easiest and most comfortable to you...I would not want to disrupt your normal work routine more than necessary..."
As she continued, he maintained his smile, silvery gold gaze attentive on the young woman...His ears perking some at her questions. "I do not mind sharing about myself either. If it is interesting to you, consider me an open book. Whatever inquiry you may wish to make, I will do my best to answer. Ah..." He paused, his chin dipping apologetically, "Forgive me for being rude. I am Casimir Marinov. Knowing my name will certainly make asking questions easier..." When he straightened up, he offered another smile, though this one was a little sheepish given his lapse in manners. "Traveling is often very expensive...But it is also rather dangerous...So it is worth it to buy good protection..."
Casimir fell quiet once his tutor of sorts started working and sorting out fabrics and tools...His tail fanning with a little more enthusiasm as he watched. "I do not mind at all. I am at your service." Stepping nearer to the table, he reached out to grab one of the charcoal pencils and some of the papers, so he could neatly pen numbers onto them, from two to five, before working on pinning each to the corresponding cloak. Once he was finished with this task, he glanced up attentively and offered another one of his small smiles, tail swaying a bit more. I gave you all my time coded by Mura of KXK

”I do not mind sharing about myself either. If it is interesting to you, consider me an open book. Whatever inquiry you may wish to make, I will do my best to answer. Ah...Forgive me for being rude. I am Casimir Marinov. Knowing my name will certainly make asking questions easier...Traveling is often very expensive...But it is also rather dangerous...So it is worth it to buy good protection..” Sanibelle just nodded softly as she listened to every word the man was saying. When he introduced himself, she smiled as she noticed him finishing up the labeling of the cloaks. “It’s a pleasure to meet you Casimir, I’m Sanibelle Greenwood. You have a very handsome and elegant name and it fits you well from what I’ve seen. I’ve heard traveling can be dangerous and expensive, but the clansmen and lucky citizens are able to travel…. My turn will come eventually, and so far the stories of battling beasts and wild hunts will suffice my hunger.” A small laugh escaped her lips. Never had she thought she’d have a traveler enter her shop and ask to help. It was a nice change of pace where people just came in, got fitted, or asked for something to be made and leave. Sanibelle had never really taught someone how to do something, but it would be a good experience for her and Casimir. Hands pressed out the cloak located on the cotton lining and smiled once more before she removed some more pins. “Thank you for finishing up the labeling! Our next step will be to pin this cloak to the cotton lining so we can cut it out. The best way to pin is to lay the pins parallel with the edge and I measure about three finger width between each pin. Do be careful..they’re sharp and we’re pinning some heavy fabric. If you’d like any thimbles, please let me know. I wouldn’t want any client to hurt themselves,” she said, as she began to pin. On her own, Sanibelle could pin the cloak in almost two minutes but she wanted to experience the moment of meeting someone new and learning their story. She was also teaching someone a new skill and that meant a slow pace to explain and check that they were doing okay. “So tell me Casimir, what are you doing here in Zöld? I’m assuming you’re a part of a clan seeing you don’t have an escort. The only ones I see around here are the Green Clan members… I could never join a clan. I just don’t think I could ever do it to be honest. But good luck to the ones who are members, and I admire your strength and skills. The only thing I really wish I was exposed to was some type of weaponry, especially rapiers. The beauty of sword fighting is just like a dance on a cloud.” CASIMIR MARINOV ❅ So much dialgue @.@

His ears perked further forward as the woman gave her name, his head bobbing in a small nod as he committed it to memory. "The pleasure is all mine, Miss Greenwood." The leopard Strain retorted softly, before pausing at the compliment to his own name. Blinking in confusion, his tail gave a small flick as he turned his head away momentarily and worked on regaining a polite and neutral expression...Compliments were not something he was used to in general. Uncertain how to respond, he simply offered a quiet, "Thank you," the timbre of his voice momentarily descending into something barely audible, before he cleared his throat and continued on: "When your time does come, please do be careful." For lack of anything better to say while he waited for his mind to stop tripping over Sanibelle's previous words. Thankfully he soon had more instructions to focus on, and he fixated his attention on that instead of his mounting confusion. His tail curled lightly against his ankles as he listened, nodding. Smoothing his hands over the lining before he reached to pick up a pin and begin following Sanibelle's guidelines. Silvery gold eyes narrowed a little in concentration, "Do not worry...A little pin prick will not do much harm to me if it happens..." His partner had seen to the fact that he often had deep bruises to nurse, thus the stick of a needle was wholly insignificant -- something the vague ache in his side reminded him of, though he would be hard-pressed to ever admit such aloud. As he worked, he swiveled and ear towards Sanibelle's voice, and let out a slight hum in thought. "I belong to the Blue Clan. As a leopard Strain I am highly adapted to the work of a Bounty Hunter, and so I help my partner track fugitives all over Raduga. Now and then we have to stop in and check with the local authorities, or negotiate payment when we have incapacitated our target. That sometimes gives me free time to spend taking care of supplies..." Glancing upwards after he secured a pin, he peered over to his tutor and gave a small smile, "So here I am." Sanibelle laughed as Casimir boldly say a pin prick wouldn’t do him harm. With her own eyes, she had seen grown men cry for even slightly grazing the tip of a needle. If it didn’t bleed, it’d be an invisible cut that itched and burned but would disappear faster than a pin prick. Just the thought of such silly scenes made her lips break into a smile making her head shake as she reminisced such thoughts. She soon broke from such memories of other peoples’ misfortunes when the male strain talked more about himself. ”I belong to the Blue Clan. As a leopard Strain I am highly adapted to the work of a Bounty Hunter, and so I help my partner track fugitives all over Raduga. Now and then we have to stop in and check with the local authorities, or negotiate payment when we have incapacitated our target. That sometimes gives me free time to spend taking care of supplies...So here I am." “So you’re from the City of Ble then, if my knowledge is correct? That’s a place I do want to see… The merchants there are some of the best in Raduga. It’s also quite expensive to travel and stay there though which is why I’ve been holding off. But my mother and father go there to meet with fabric merchants and clients to spread out their name of business and recommendation.” The young blonde woman finished her side of the cloak and grabbed a pair of snips. She walked to the edge of the long table and carefully cut off the fabric making the bolt free from tugging on the fabric on the table. “Tell, Mr. Marinov...how is it being a Clansmen? What kind of beasts and people do you see? Of course there’s the rift between Blue and Red Clan, everyone knows that,” she said gently, as fingers undid her long braid. Gold threads fell around her body gracefully in soft waves. Pale digits brushed through it, the sun hitting on her hair making it shine. Sanibelle twisted her long hair and put it up in a bun because her was starting to over heat. I barely did anything today...maybe it’s because of the weather.. It is warm.“I’m sorry..I need to get some water and something to nibble on. The weather is making my body extremely tired..Would you like anything, Mr. Marinov?” CASIMIR MARINOV ❅ Cuties~

Sliding another pin home, the leopard Strain nodded lightly, his tail settling into a slow, content rhythm while he worked. "That is where the clan headquarters is, yes, and where I spend a lot of my time...But I was originally born in Piros," His brow furrowed some as he checked and double checked his work, "My partner took pity on me early in my life and took me in...I have been traveling with him ever since then. Wherever he goes, I follow," This he mused with a certain nonchalance, having not known anything else in his life to compare it to. Satisfied with his pinning, he straightened his posture and glanced upwards, his attention returning to his tutor as his ears swiveled towards her. "Oh...I do not need any titles. Casimir is fine," The feline corrected softly, before focusing on her inquiries. "It is an enjoyable vocation...Some do not like working with a creature like myself, but it is worth it for the times that I get to prove that those like me are not like the monsters that threaten the cities." His shoulders rolled in a small shrug, a polite smile lingering on his features as his silvery gold gaze momentarily fixated on her hair. Blinking once and casting his gaze elsewhere as the cascade of blonde tresses stirred something awkward in his chest; a sense of being at home, perhaps, mixed with a certain anxiety thanks to the mark left on his psyche by his partner. "There are many many different people and creatures that cross our paths when we work...It would be hard to sum up such a vast group of individuals into neat descriptions," Casimir offered after a short bout of silence as his mind stalled... Only for it to stumble again as Sanibelle spoke again, "Ah...I do not require anything beyond water, thank you. Do not press yourself too hard, I would not want your health to be ill-affected by my request for tutoring..." I gave you all my time coded by Mura of KXK
