In the long slumber, she felt nothing but empty inside- empty yet peaceful. It was the longest sleep she ever felt but it felt good. She felt calm, in solace and almost as if there was no reason for her to struggle anymore. What could she struggle for in life? Many things. She wanted to be as good as her brother. She wanted to be worthy of sharing his responsibility as Lucienta's heir and as silver king. She thought, "Ah, so it's over" to herself as she drifted away from the reality, to a dream land where she should have never waken up from, but she did. This is too cruel, Arthur. Tears fell uncontrolled down to the ground and she sobbed so hard it sounded like she could pass out just from that. Even though she was centuries old, Rayne was still the same young Aurora- young emotional Aurora. "I wanted to stay with Arthur, but I also had you. Rora, I had to take care of you. I couldn't see another sister gone, please understand" His words were sincere to her. She felt a pang in her heart. Finnian was someone she could trust on, and if she was to calmly think about it, perhaps it was indeed Arthur's request and was not him to be blamed about everything. "You would stay with him," she muttered, almost like trying to persuade her emotional heart to accept this. "You would have stayed, right?" She repeated, seeking a definite answer. She trust Finnian, she truly does. Her eyes looked up at the purple-haired man with painful look. Her tears slowly stopped and slowly dried. The wind cast soft breeze through the sacred ground, blowing away the sadness in her heart, little by little, like sand. Rayne looked down and remained quiet momentarily. Her eyes lingered on the soil with nowhere to look at exactly. She sniffled few times, wiped dry her face with her scarf and muttered loud enough for him to hear, "Thank you, Fin." She thanked him for watching after her, and for being a loyal companion to Arthur. If there was anything, Arthur would have felt proud of him. She knew that. She slowly pushed herself up, feeling light-headed after the whole emotional breakdown moment. Not to mention, she suffered insomniac that probably caused her trouble to function in days. Rayne groaned a bit, holding her head with one hand and another hand rested on her knee. She blinked as though she has been hit with flashlights. "I'm happy... to meet you again, Finn," she exclaimed with a smile on her lips. It was reassuring, somehow that was what she felt now. She knew little about the clan or even the people in the clan her brother lead, but she knew whoever they were, they must be good people. It came to her mind to ask about it from Finn but before she could ask, she felt her knees were not strong enough to hold her and she tripped forward. | |
