Lavi is a fairly selfish man, he craves being the center of attention so badly that he has no problem acting out in various ways to get it. Most often this manifests in lascivious behavior to find bed partners so he can fulfill a deeper desire to feel needed / wanted. One might say he's addicted to attention. While he's not the type to admit it to anyone, most of that stems from the fact that he had deeper feelings for his brother that never came to light. Kasper never gave him the attention he desired and so he constantly did things to try to gain his attention. These habits followed him into adult life.

That's not to say that Lavi is a completely horrible person, though. He does have some positives. The most obvious being he is a very dedicated individual, whether the subject of his desire wants him to be or not. Once he decides he likes someone, he will do everything in his power to gain their approval and attention. Of course when taken to an extreme, such a trait could be considered a negative...But it has its upsides. It means he'll stick with someone through thick and thin. When he finds people that put up with him long enough to let him get truly attached, he can also be pretty caring and concerned. Sure, it's partially motivated for his desire to be pleasing, but he's eager nonetheless.

He's also a fairly sturdy individual, mentally and physically. He has his insecurities but he's good at keeping them under wraps and shielding them from other people. His penchant for masochism also means he's developed a high pain tolerance.
