He will occasionally adorn himself in fancier jewels and metals, but that's generally only for brothel clientele. small leather pouch A thin, decorated container filled with small tools and useful objects, such as needles, string, lockpicks, a vial or two of some drug or poison, flint, and perhaps even a few jewels he lifted off a stranger. | SKILLS LIST corpse manipulation To put it bluntly, Dez has always had an affinity for dead bodies. Given years of patient practice and focus, he can skillfully telekinetically move the parts of dead organisms of the animal kingdom if he is aware of their location. Skin contact allows him to mentally reshape these bodies or sections of bodies as if they had the consistency of clay. The corpses can only be used in an elemental-like fashion, rather than as flesh puppets. Thus, controlling fine motor skills such as a person's tongue or hands is essentially impossible. After joining the colorless clan, his aura began to reach out and feel around for dead bodies as a sort of "dead thing detector". Dez feels an emotional closeness to these "dead things", and feels much safer the more there are around. However, if he manipulates a large quantity or continues manipulating for an extended period of time, he develops a blissful, druglike high which hinders his focus. It should also be noted that this ability makes it impossible for him to eat meat. As soon as the food enters his stomach his powers go haywire, forcing him to throw up the squirming, mutating substance. dream induction Dez is able to dive into a dreamland constructed from a mixture of his own whims and his targets' collective subconscious. The initial feeling of the dream is decided by Dez, while the details are drawn from his targets' minds. Dez's influence can range from just sitting back and watching the dream unfold without even making an avatar for himself, to altering every detail to his own specific design. In the dream, he is all-powerful. Granted, it's just a dream, so, although a particularly traumatic experience may cause his targets to become emotionally shaken after being expelled from the dreamscape, the experience cannot injure or otherwise physically manipulate anyone in reality. Although it fluctuates, the flow of time appears to move about 10-30 times faster in the dream than in reality, so there are some occasions when he uses it on himself just to think things through more quickly. He can hold himself and one other individual in this dreamland for many realtime hours, but two or more other individuals can only be held for a handful of realtime minutes -- no more than five. Upon hitting the maximum time, they will be expelled from the dream and Dez will immediately pass out from exhaustion. While in the dreamscape, the targets' physical bodies fall unconscious and Dez's physical body appears to go into a trance, eyes turning completely black. Although he can hear slowed, muffled sounds from the real world, he cannot react unless he ends the dream, returning both himself and his targets back to consciousness. Any pain to his physical body will also expel them both from the dream. While sleeping, he may use this ability without realizing it, resulting in many occasions of bizarre shared dreams. |
